"leakage" - a bit TMI
I woke up this morning and found my right nipple "wet". So, I squeezed a little and some "white" stuff came out. Just a little bit. Then that was it. It had been hurting for about 2 days.
Now I am not sure if this is the start of milk or pus!!!!
How do I know? (And why do I come up now with those stupid questions at the end of this pregnancy?)

Mine has been doing that too - but mine has been clear. Dr told me just to let him know if it was anything but clear - but not sure what white means

Re: "leakage" - a bit TMI
i understand that both lactating and mastitis are very painful, so i guess the pain part is non-specific.
is your nipple or the area around it red or hot?
is the fluid you expressed foul-smelling?
those are the other signs of infection that i would look for...

No words of wisdom here, possibly you just leaked out some milk (of some sort)...some women do this early (before birth) and it's normal. Try to stay calm and bring it up at the dr. appt!
I know that my nipples are a little dry and I glanced down to see white in the shower the other day and nearly fell over...I realized it was dry skin.

Re: "leakage" - a bit TMI
my first pregnancy I leaked all the time. Does it smell "sweet" If so - i'ts probably colostrum and just the start of the lactating process.

Re: "leakage" - a bit TMI
Both of mine have leaked over the past few weeks. Usually it's one or the other, sometimes both. The color has ranged from clear, to white, and sometimes yellow.
Thankfully, DH hasn't noticed or he might lose his mind.....

Re: "leakage" - a bit TMI
I began lactating a few years ago, due to my pituitary tumor. They told me that clear and white are normal. Mine has normally been like that. Sometimes it can be green if you have a blocked duct. Bloody is bad. Always tell your doctor though. But I wouldn't worry. I began lactating again around the 23rd week and it's been clear/white.
