Leaking Roof
Ok we took possession of our piece of crap house back in July. It has been nothing but trouble since. The darling previous owner did so much to hide all the problems and rip us off. She and her REA sold us a house in move in condition. Sure move in condition if I want my ds growing up in a urine filled smoked out leaking moldy house.
Anyway we just found another leak. The roof leaked and went along the old exterior wall and down to the foundation. We need to fix the roof, rip apart the wall and replace the sheet rock. Can anyone suggest a contractor for this. I have asked around at work but no one is getting me any names. I really have to get this done because the wall with the damage if the wall that separates my room from my son's room. And I am expecting a new baby in September. I am concerned about the health of my children from mold.
I would appreciate any contractor suggestions TIA.

Re: Leaking Roof
For those shopping for a house... Before you sign the dotted line ask for a one year home owners warranty...
Sorry about your problems...

Did you have a home inspection done?

Yes we had an inspection done but they must have fixed it just enough to cover the problem. We didn't find the leak until about 6 months after we were in the house and the ceiling in the bedroom sprung a leak. there was no warning. No water mark or anything it just started leaking one night. I couldn't believe it no warning at all. But the water must have been up there gathering. There was no way to tell since there is no attic over that part of the house. It is a shed roof. And the newest leak wasn't noticeable until this weekend. The water was in the wall but not warping the Sheetrock or anything. It is the weirdest thing. I have never seen anything like it.
