Leaky Dog Problem!

OK this may be TMI - but, our dog has a 'leaky' butt. I notice this mostly in the AM - he sleeps in the bed with us and I notice small brown streaks on my sheets and it's always wet because once it leaks on the bed he licks it and licks it and licks it! I don't know why. I thought maybe it was because we weren't taking him out early enough but sometimes he doesn't even 'do his business' until his second AM walk....so I don't think it's b/c he has to go so badly he can't hold it. Also, sometimes we'll find him licking and going to town on his bum which we think is because he feels it leaking and is licking it to stop it Chat Icon

DH and I are so clueless! I have finding these little brown stains and I don't want this to bother him... anyone ever deal with this?

Sounds like he needs his anal glands expressed. Take him to the vet to make sure and they will do it if necessary.

Do you think he is actually "leaking" or maybe after he is going, there is still some stuck to the fur?? Might sound sooo weird, but after Bella goes I clean her with a baby wipe every time. I want to make sure her fur is clean and there is nothing left there if you know what I mean.

Ok got it, sorry for the confusion. I would def. take a trip to the Vet
