Leapster Explorer for 3yo?

Yay or nay?

Need a good gift idea for DD. She loves our laptop, all we have to do is get her to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse website and she takes it from there. She knows how to play all the games, move/click the mouse, and somehow she even learned how to print Chat Icon . Would the Leapster Explorer be a good idea?

Thanks!

Re: Leapster Explorer for 3yo?

My kids have the Leapster L-max and Leapster 2. I orgiinally got them when they were both around 3 yrs. old. I don't know about the Explorer, but with the other 2 systems I found that they still needed help with a lot of things. The games are learning games so when it comes up to a math problem, reading, or something else they needed help. It took a while for them to be able to play it on their own. By 3.5 yrs old they were able to. I was thinking about getting my younger one the Explorer but wasn't sure yet. I really like that line of systems though. Very cute and great learning tools! We got DS the Vtech Mobigo for his 3rd birthday. It has a touch screen and a qwerty keyboard. Some of the games are challenging, but thats the point of learning right? He had no trouble learning to use it.

Re: Leapster Explorer for 3yo?

My DD is really good with my laptop and ipod. I ordered it for her for Christmas this year (she will have just turned 4).

If you order online, they have a good deal.

$10 off $50 or $20 off $100

and if you buy a bundle, you get another 15% off

oh! and free shipping over like $50 too!!
