leaving DD in different places every day

I'm going back to work in a month & I'm trying to figure out how this is going to work. Is it bad that DD will be in different places through the week?

This is the tentative schedule.....

Mon- DD is home with her
Tues- Daycare
Wed- Daycare
Thur- I'm home with her
Fri- grandmas
Sat- grandmas
Sun- we are both off

DD thinks we should pay for an extra day of daycare so she can be there 3 consecutive days (tues, wed, thurs) & I'll switch my day off to friday. I get his piont but I rather her with my mom.

What do you think, is it better to have 3 days in a row at daycare for her or is it ok the shuffle her around each day?

Re: leaving DD in different places every day

My daughter is with different people/places a few times a week also. I think she really enjoys it. Keeps things interesting and she doesn't get bored as fast

Monday she is at my aunts house
Tuesday she is home and my aunt is there with her
Wednesday she goes to an in home daycare that has 2-3 other kids and loves having play time with them
Thursday she is home and my mom is there with her
Friday she is home and DH is there with her
Saturday and Sunday she is all over the place with me LOL

Your dd will be fine, Its nice to change things up in my opinion

I do a shuffle too.

DS is OK. It was tough in the beginning.. but he got used to it very fast & I think it stimulates him.

We do the shuffle too, kids are fine, they just don't know where they are going on any given day Chat Icon .

Sometimes DH watches them during the day, I'm off on weekends, when DH needs to work, they go to my MIL's, and on Friday's my sister watches them until my mom gets off of work.

It helps to have it written on the calendar.

Re: leaving DD in different places every day

We did this for awhile.

Mon + Tues: home w/ DH
Wed + Th: daycare
Fri + Sat: home w/ me
Sun: all of us together

For me, I liked it bc it broke up the week and I think it also kept the boys occupied/ stimulated in different ways!

Re: leaving DD in different places every day

We have been doing it for 5 years with all three kids. Day Care, Grandparents, in-laws, now aftercare with Kindergarten, etc. They roll with it and we drop off at 6:30am. It sucks having to get them up early, but they really adjust fine to it. My DD wakes up and says where we going today. HA

You are not alone.

We shuffle between 3 different places, and the kids are fine with it. Every once in a while DS has a meltdown about wanting to go to one particular place over another. However, 5 minutes after I leave he calms down and acts like nothing ever happened Chat Icon

Re: leaving DD in different places every day

We did the shuffle between daycare, my moms and home with me for a year and it was ok. But then daycare cut back their hours and we had to have another person pick DS up and bring him to our house. It was getting to be too much.

Now we have a share nanny 3-4 days a week, we bring him to my moms one day and I try to work from home one day. It's sooooo much better!!!

We do a shuffle too. DS is almost 22 months and he's fine.

He started as an infant in daycare 2x a week and the other three weekdays, he was either with my DH or ILs. Now he's in daycare 3x a week and with DH the other 2.

We have a rotating schedule too - so for instance, this week he's in daycare M-W and home Thurs and Fri.

Next week I think he's going M, Th, F and home with DH on T, and W.

He has adapted well to this schedule - better than I have because I have a very hard time keeping track of it more than a week out.
