Leaving Him alone for the first time...

I couldnt do it. I freaked out BAD. I was leaving him with my mom to go to the OB for an incision check and I was so scared I started crying , and was sooo afraid something would happen while I was gone.

I barely make it out the door ( aunt was driving me to the dr's) and 3 blocks away some idiot almost hits us...we had to kinda go up on the curb to avoid it.

I flipped, I was so scared, I made her take me home Chat Icon

Please tell me I will be ok leaving him eventually???

I feel so scared now.

I definitely will get better.

I do remember, I did take her with my to my check up. But DH was there too.

Chat Icon It gets better! I remember the first time that I left Nicholas with DH. He was around 6 weeks old and I cried a lot when I was leaving. I think those were the hormones...

It will get better. I remember I had to leave DS to get a wisdom tooth out. I was petrified. He stayed with my mom, I did go, but wanted to get back home so quick.

plus - my OB and her entire office wanted to see her as well.

I was 13 days late - so they all knew my story in there - plus we didn't find out - so they were all dying to know Chat Icon

Why would the ped say no?

Aww Donna - you knew it would be hard leaving him! I'm sure it will get easier as time goes on though.

Thank god no one was hurt in the accident!

When Logan was 2 weeks old my dad MADE DH and I go out to dinner.

I cried in the car then relaxed and enjoyed myself.

It's hard at first but necessary.

You might want to try smaller increments of time. Go out for a solo walk or something for 10-15 minutes and build up to being alone for longer.

It will get better.

It does get better. When DD was almost 2 weeks my firends took me out for my b-day. We only went 5 min away but I couldn't stop thinking about her the whole time.

I don't understand why you are afraid. Are you afraid they can't take care of him. Its like riding a bike, you don't forget. I used to love when people would watch my kids and I could get a break.

because My mom has a bad knee for ex. and when she is holding him on the chair, I see her struggle to get up and Im afraid she will drop him....

My MIL doesnt support his neck and he will be flounced over and shes not even paying attention to him.

That sort of stuff ....where you think the worst...

This just took me straight back to when Ava was first bornChat Icon That feeling will come and go for a long time, but hopefully the days those feelings will be fewer. It's not easy, and I don't really like going anywhere other than work without Ava, but I feel that I've properly educated a select few people on how to take care of her in my absenceChat Icon I'm partially kidding, but the more you get to know Noah, the more you can tell others how you would like him to be cared for, and it does get a little easier. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon For now, don't leave that baby boy's side if you don't want to!Chat Icon

Re: Leaving Him alone for the first time...

I took DD to both visits to my obgyn pp, its not like a regular dr.s office where you have to worry about them getting a cold. dont worry it will get better. Chat Icon
