Leaving my pup for 3 days
DH and I are going to a wedding in Florida this weekend - leaving very early Friday morning.
We are boarding Lily starting tomorrow night and I'm so sad about it. I know she will be fine, but the thought of leaving her in a metal cage for that long kills me (and DH too). Our flight home on Sunday lands after our vet closes (we're boarding here there), so one of our neighbors is picking her up and bringing her to our house and putting her in her crate. I just couldn't bear the thought of leaving her in there one more night. We would normally leave her with my parents, but they are heading to Florida as well (family wedding)
Please tell me that I'm not going to have a nervous breakdown. She's such a snuggler and loves to be with us at all times. Is she going to think we abandoned her? Is she going to regress on her potty habits?

Re: Leaving my pup for 3 days
She will miss you but dogs have short-term memories. She'll remember you but she won't remember how long you were gone for -- 2 hours, 2 days, or 2 weeks.
You will get lots of hugs and kisses when you get home!!
