leg cramps! OWW!!!
Is anyone else experiencing these at night? No exaggeration, I was up 10 times last night because of them! Any time I bend my knees or point my toes, BAM! Another cramp! Please tell me someone out there has helpful tips to relieve them?? Im about 22 weeks and have gained 10lbs...is this going to get worse as I get further along??

Re: leg cramps! OWW!!!
potasium and calcium are what I heard helps - so I started eating a banana with a glass of milk before bed and they went away

Re: leg cramps! OWW!!!
I actually looked up what caused charlie horses because I got them all the time with DS and this time only twice so I was curious. Postassium, sodium, elctrolytes and dehydration are the culprits. I do drink a lot more water this time around. I would try and drink more water and eat a banana everyday. You get enough sodium in food and the sports drink have to much sugar. I only drink that if I feel my sugar is low.

A friend's doctor suggested drinking a glass of water and taking 2 Tums before bed to help with the leg cramps.

Re: leg cramps! OWW!!!
I had gotten one really bad cramp one night when I was about 20 weeks. I was relieved when I didnt feel them again, then 2 nights ago I woke up 4 times with them...sooo painful! I asked my dr and she said to flex your foot the moment it starts. It may hurt to flex your foot initially, but I swear it does stop the cramp!!!

Re: leg cramps! OWW!!!
If they are charlie horses, I was told yesterday to have DH bend my toes back (like flexing your foot)
I haven't tried this yet, but am willing to try anything especially when they come in the middle of the night

It absolutely works! Also make sure you are getting enough water.
