Legal, free alternative to Photoshop
I've noticed a lot of posts/questions/request regarding Photoshop. For anyone who wants 75% (or more) of the abilities of Photoshop, but none of the cost, there is a legal, freeware alternative called GIMP. I've been using it for years. I'm pretty good with Photoshop and GIMP, and I haven't found anything that I can't do in GIMP that I wanted to. Yes, Photoshop can do more, but that's way beyond my abilities.

It's free, so I'm not selling anything, so this post should be within the rules.

OH wow thanks! I was thinking I should have put Photoshop in my Christmas list, but a free alternative is way better!!

I was just looking at PhotoShop the other day on eBay, thinking about buying it. But forget that if I can get something just like it for free! (my motto is, "if it's free, it's for me!"  )

Think of it as my Christmas present to everyone... (Too bad I can't give free gifts to my family!)
I'm a big fan of free, open-source software. I have quite a bit of legal, free software. There are even some free Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) compatible tools that I am currently using. I'd rather save my money for my kids, whenever possible... :)
