Legal zoom for a will?
My husband and I don't have a will. I want to find a lawyer to make one. My husband saw a commercial for legal zoom. I don't know anyone who has ever used this. Is it legitimate?
Also, does anyone have a will with trusts for their animals care? Any tips? I have 4 dogs that I want to make sure are cared for...GOD FORBID something happens to both of us at the same time.
Thank you!

Legal zoom for a will?
I am sure it is legal, but one drawn up by a lawyer would probably be better and more detailed.
As for your pets, good for you to be thinking about them. Yes, people write trusts for their pets care. I have read about dogs with trusts and I knew a 40 year old polo pony who had one. He was the last of a string of five polo ponies who were left money in trust to care for them. He lived to 42, a great age for a horse.
Just be sure whoever you would like to leave your dogs to is willing to take them, as not everyone wants or can take in four dogs. Try to make sure that enough money is put into a trust for their care upon your death, so that your animals would be properly covered for their whole lives, however long that might be. If you can not leave a lot for their feeding and health care, be sure whomever you leave them to can afford to care for them after your funds run out - and that they would be willing to pay for the pets expenses.
Medical care for pets is increasingly expensive. I just spent almost $1000 in the past two months on my DD hedgehog, including having the poor thing euthanized when it couldn't be made better.
The polo pony's trust only provided a certain amount a month for its care, however boarding fees had risen much higher over the many extra years he had lived. In his case, the barn manager accepted the lower payment and allowed him to stay on out of kindness. Another barn might have made him leave. That could happen at a pet boarding kennel, if that is where you would send them, so think ahead.

Thanks so much for all of this info! I really appreciate it. And I'm so happy everything worked out for the pony!
