Lentils
What are they like? I LOVE bean soups (navy bean, white bean, black bean, etc) but IDK what to expect from lentils. I have a good recipe for a lentil soup I want to try.

I think lentils have a very "creamy" taste.
I just made the best lentils and chorizo in the crockpot over the weekend. It was fabulous!!

Their texture is pretty similar to other beans, but they have a more earthy flavor.
I looove lentils, but DH won't touch them.

I make lentil soup - just like split pea soup. Usually follow the directions for the water amount.
Add 1-2 onions cut into pieces. A few cloves of garlic b/c I love garlic.
Then when its about done, add a few hot dogs. (mom grew up in a kosher home - no ham bones)

yes, i think they have a bean-y texture to them too. if u like beans i think u'll like lentils too.

i love lentil soup! i dice up some onion, celery and carrot and put it in the soup too along with little pieces of pasta (like pastina or ditalini pasta)

Lentils are a staple for me. I love them, but DH does not. He says it's too chalky.
