Let the embarrassing preggo moments begin!
so during my night shift in the emergency room i suddenly became RAVENOUS. against my better judgment, i bought a bag of doritos from the snack machine to satisfy my craving.
they were so good... for about 5 MINUTES. then came the worst nausea i think i've ever had.
i ran to the nursing station and stole one of those pink plastic vomit basins and had to sit with it for the rest of the night.
fast forward to 8am, when it comes time for me to leave, and i'm WAY too nauseous to leave without the basin (what if i puked in my car?).
so i walked OUT of the hospital, while everyone else was walking IN to work, carrying a VOMIT BASIN. i passed at least 20 people i knew - none of whom know i am pg.
 
i called DH from the car, crying over this

What doesn't kill us makes us stronger..... I totally understand what you went through...I had a few of those moments in my first trimester when I was in school and ppl didn't know I was pg.

I carried a plastic bag around in my purse, or my jacket pocket, anything! That way it was discreet! Good luck!!!

that's a great idea! i'm just going to stock plastic bags everywhere just in case. not as sturdy as the vomit basin, but definitely more discreet

are you actually vomiting or just feel like you might. I know junk food like doritos make me feel like garbage. I don't vomit though. SO i'm eating feeling sick and just getting fat because I don't vomit. I guess i'd rather that than puking. feel better

i am not a junk food eater at all - don't remember the last time i even ate doritos (years?) - but i was SO hungry and the cafeteria was closed and they were the only food that appealed to me in the snack machine...
but i don't think it's the doritos that put me over the edge. lately EVERYTHING i eat makes me nauseous after i eat it, so i end up just eating tiny bits of this and that.
i didn't actually vomit. but i had to stop what i was doing and stare into the pink basin for like 2 hours. had i moved i would have definitely puked.
