Let's talk about make-up & skincare

Has anyone found something in their make-up or skincare and had to change what they use?

Obviously anything with Retin-A, or a form of it as well as acne medication needs to be omitted. I have some prescription stuff which i stopped using immediately.

I mostly use Aveda (which I am sure is safe), Mac and Lancome products. Think these are all safe?

I changed nothing. I still use all the same stuff mostly Oil Of Olay. My skin has actually been great.

I didn't really change anything, but for my foundation which has salicylic acid in it.

Re: Let's talk about make-up & skincare

years ago I pitched my normal make-up.... I read that most american brands are filled with ingredients that are banned in the EU Chat Icon

becuase of that, I use only natural make-ups... I generally use burts bees tinted moisturizer (now discontinued, but I hoarded before it disappeared) and powder.

In the summer when I need SPF, I switch to origins make-up.... I suspect is has more chemicals in it than burts bees, though...

I have also greatly reduced my antipersperant use (aluminum + developing brain can never = anything great) I found that I generally don't perspire/smell during the day anyway... might change during the summer though Chat Icon

I just bought that "Belli" skin wash. It's a pregnancy line, I'll see how it is!

I can't wear too much makeup since my skin is extremely dry. The only cream that makes my skin normal is la mer so I switched to that. and I stopped using my neutrageona face wash bc it had salicylic acid

This website is AMAZING.

HOWEVER, be prepared that many common products are rated not good on there. I am finding it impossible to find a line of products that are completely safe so I've been going with the best of the worst.

What surprised me the most on this website is that even products labeled "organic" or "natural" are not even all safe!

Re: Let's talk about make-up & skincare

Exactly!!!
Many Dr.'s give you a list of ingredients to stay away from and so many have them in it!! YOu have to avoid them as much as possible the first 14 weeks.
Burt's Bees was ok and MAC cleanse oil was safe too
My beloved Creme De LaMer is not :(
Also, the shampoos too!!!
As someone said most of this stuff is made differently overseas even though it is the same brand because it is deemed harmful.
