Let's talk about Rockband...

OK, DH and I just got the Beatles Rockband and we are totally addicted! Has anyone else bought that edition? We've been playing until like 11pm every night since we've gotten it; our eyes are burning out of the sockets!

So for those that have it (or the other Rockbands)...what's your signature instrument? Favorite songs?

At parties and such, my DH always sings and usually everyone's had a few drinks. I've never played it before this week. I've been doing the drums mostly and can't figure out how drinking and Rockband go together...I'm totally out of control completely sober! And oh yeah, I actually got 3% for singing "Hello Goodbye."

It looks really cool but I have to say, as a professional musician, I SUCK at Rock Band. I wish I could play it, especially the Beatles one, but damn, it is so hard because the controls go against my natural instinct.

Oh well, I'll have fun watching my nephew play it.

I love Rockband!! I am usually on the guitar, my brother on drums (he hates it but does it cause no one else wants to lol) my boyfriend is usually on the microphone because he can't figure out how to use any of the instruments and my sister in law is on the other guitar.....its a family band!

We completed the whole first CD to Rockband and now got the Metallica version- I am addicted!

Funny,I was gonna start a thread about Beatles Rockband!

I don't have it yet and I'm loooosing my mind!!!! I was so excited about it...then I find out it's not available for PS2.

So now...DH is getting us the Wii for Christmas. I have a feeling it'll be an early Christmas present since neither of us can wait!

I'm especially excited that they have three-part harmony too!!! I have a feeling I'll be the singer in this band. DH likes the drums but he doesn't want to buy them this time around cuz they take up so much space.

I love the special edition instruments- the Hofner bass, the Rickenbacher...the drums!!!!!!! But we have to go budget on this one since we're buying a whole new system.

OMG I can't wait!! I watched all the previews and I just flip over it!!! The visuals are stunning...it's like reliving all the old Beatles footage!

I'm dying to get the Beatles edition!!

I rock the Bass or the guitar. My favorite songs are on the Legends of Rock version.... One by Metallica... My Name is Jona by Weezer... and Baracuda by I can't remember who sings this...

Hi, my name is OtherMe and i'm addicted to RockBand and Guitar Hero World Tour

When we play, we play for HOURS on end. There are about 4 of us that play regularly, with a rotation of 3 or 4 others that join in as well depending on who's around.
I love to play the guitar, and sing. My DH likes guitar and drums. Luckily we have one friend who is on beginner and always takes the bass guitar.
I think we've sung and played every song possible.
I looooove singing when i finally get the guts up to do it (well, i wouldn't call it singing, it's more like yelling)

My personal favorite is Metallica.. i swear the first time we played it, we were doing it for about 6 hours! My eyes went crazy! I used to be a huge metallica fan, so when that came out it was the ultimate fantasy for me.. singing/yelling and playing all those songs. My forearms are always burning after playing Metallica on the guitar!

funny though, i despise karaoke, but love rockband!

I have 'real' musician friends who all say the same thing - they can't play the game because it goes against what they'd naturally play on a song and they get screwed up!

In fact.. we're playing tonight!

oh, and the Beatles RB is amazing..

the harmonies that allow more than one person to sing are really fun - and get more people involved.

I agree with the musician aspect as well....it was tough for me at first and it often goes against what I expect I should be playing. Then I have to let that go and just play a video game!

That's so funny how several of you said that for a musician, it's counterintuitive. Last night I changed the level on the drums to "medium" difficulty and failed out like 50 times. I remarked to my DH, "I'm pretty sure even Ringo Starr couldn't complete this song."

We love Rock Band. We don't have the Beatles addition though ad we should probably get it. I play the guitar. I stink at the drums.

We got Beatles Rockband and it ROCKS!! I was a Beatles "hater" until I played the game...the graphics are awesome!!

We have Rockband II and although we haven't played in a while since DD was born, DH always played the drums and i played the guitar. Before we stopped we were both up to playing on expert!! It's so fun.
