Let's talk about this stomach virus..

Ok- so Rj was up throwing up from 11:30pm-3:00am

No one at school has had it, but I have heard that there is a very bad bug going around.

So whats the cycle this bug is going in...

So far its been non-stop vomitting, but no diarrhea, and no fever.

I just want to be prepared, if anything more is to come.

How long did this virus last?

ETA- forget I lied- his entire class has it... so thats where he got it from

Well I told you Amanda threw up one time at 5:00 a.m. but otherwise seems fine and has no other symptoms. I am hoping it is nothing but now am worried too

Eric brought this lovely virus home. He's been in NYC all week where it's spreading like wildfire. I understand it starts with a headache in adults, then the vomiting starts. Not sure about children. Of course we are leaving in a few hours so with my luck, both of my kids will be vomiting on the plane and I'll be holding the bags

I hope they all feel better soon!

Matthew just had it the other week. He only vomitted for a day a half but his stomach was still feeling crappy. So it lasted about 5-6 days I would say.

They are saying it's really only a 24 hour virus, so I'm sure he'll be fine by tomorrow!

my ds had it then gave it to my dh and grandma all 3 went to the hospital after only 3 hours of vomitting b/c of dehydration! my dh's blood pressure dropped to 63/30 and he went into shock (after only 2+ hours of being sick and drinking fluids the entire time!) so please be careful and make sure your dc is as hydrated as possible. maybe try pedialite or those pedialite pops.

vomitting lasted 3 days with my ds. 2 with dh and 1 week with my 90 year old grandma.

Add us to the list...AGAIN!! DD had this a month ago and now has it AGAIN!! Threw up last night and again this morning. It is going around her center. I am just praying I don't get it this time around again!!

Ryan had diarrea for a wk and threw up 3 times in that time period. He was a fairly good mood still, and continued to nurse/drink his BM so the MD just had us mix acidophyllous in his food and let it run it's course. It was pretty nasty.

DS threw up three times yesterday - was up from 3 a.m. till about 7 a.m. and has been feeling pretty crappy today - just not himself - I've been giving him pedialyte every 20 minutes all day - which then led to diarhea this evening - hoping he has a better night tonight...hope all the kiddies with this bug feel better

DD threw up for 3 days non-stop- they finally put her on Zofran to stop it. Diarrhea lasted another two more days.
It was not fun

yeah he's still not better - if anything, he's doing worse - apparently giving him so much pedialyte made him totally gassy - so the same dr who, yesterday, told me to give DD pedialyte every 20 minutes round the clock till we had regular wet diapers told me today that pedialyte causes kids his age (about 18 months) to have lots of gas (btw did you know this??) - today I was told that i should be doing the gatorade thing instead I think i want to look for a new pediatrician...

Elizabeth had it on Wednesday night. Thank god it only lasted a few hours. She did puke all over me at CVS though - that really sucked!!!

DS threw up on our way home from Radio City yesterday ( yep, not fun, all over the truck and me 9 months pregnant ) He was fine all day until the show and started to say he had a belly ache...threw up one more time at home last night and had a 101 fever....Had tylenol 2x...Spent most of the day today sleeping and woke up a new man (no more vomiting, and fever seems to be pretty much close to gone)- Knock on wood, for him it seemed to be a 24 hour thing ...Hope your little man feels better soon !

I had it last Sunday for 24 hours.

DD had it on Monday night from 11:30pm - 2am. That was it. A week later, she still doesn't have her appetite completely back.
