Let's talk bathtime
Alex used to LOVE bathtime... I mean LOVE it so much that she would run to the bathroom and start jumping and pointing at the bathtub. But, in the last few months she has grown TERRIFIED of bathtime. I don't know what changed, but now she literally clings to DH and won't let go as he tries to put her in the tub with me. She won't sit, she'll only stand, and she screams and hollars if I try to wash her head (which is to be expected). BTDT moms... what tricks do you have to help your toddler enjoy bathtime more?

Re: Let's talk bathtime
this hasn't happened to me but it happened to a good friend of mine and she said she got some bath toy, maybe a xylophone of some sort and now her DS is back to loving the bath...

Re: Let's talk bathtime
We haven't had that problem, thankfully, although there are individual nights when DS isn't in the mood for a bath. We have colored bath tablets from BRU that change the color of the water. He loves picking out colors and making new colors (there are red, yellow and blue tablets). Some days he really wants "Lightning red" (from the Cars movie), or Grover blue, etc. It's also a good way to teach them about mixing colors to make new colors.

Re: Let's talk bathtime
There was a period of maybe 2 weeks were Nate would do the same thing. When I put him in the tub he would stiffen up and refuse to sit down. So then for about a week we would take a shower with him. Then tried the tub again with extra bubbles and a new toy and he's been fine ever since.

Out of the blue, Maddie became afraid of the bath. She would scream in terror & grab my arm. We used a doll for her to "wash" or we would give her a sponge to clean the tub. Worked like a charm.

We had the same problem! Noah started hating the bath and screamed for the whole entire time! It lasted about 2 weeks and when it was over, he was very happy in the bath again!

Re: Let's talk bathtime
Talia almost always refused to take a bath - so now we shower her. The downside is one of us has to go in with her.
