Lets Talk Books
Which have you found really helpful? If there's one book I should buy and start reading now which would it be?

Re: Lets Talk Books
I have been wondering the same thing! I bought "What to Expect When You're Expecting" but I have heard that there are better ones out there

Re: Lets Talk Books
I have What to Expect When You're Expecting and yaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnn.
I just decided after awhile, these books likely won't help me much....so I haven't bothered too much with them.
If anything, I think it's more important to get a book for DH. He has "My Boys Can Swim!" and it's a short read and he has really liked reading it and learning about pregnancy from a guy's perspective.

Re: Lets Talk Books
When I was pregnant with DS "Your Pregnancy Week By Week" was helpful. But I never read a single pregnancy/parenting book cover to cover.

I have what to expect and honestly you can get everything for free from the website. . it's not bad but if you are an internet person you might not need to pay for it. .
The Birth Partner is a good book if you want your DH involved in the whole birthing process. . kind of outlines what is helpful in birth and stuff. .
I also have The Essential Guide to Pregnancy and Birth which I like

Re: Lets Talk Books
I liked Your Pregnancy Week by Week better than What to Expect. But I tended to read it more towards the beginning of my pregnancy.

Re: Lets Talk Books
I have this daily journal book that tells you every single day what's going on in there and what's changing. It's only about a paragraph a day, and there are spaces to write notes and your progress and stuff here and there. DH and I read it together every single night before we go to bed and it really has been wonderful.
We like it SO MUCH that we went out and got this one for once the baby gets here:

Re: Lets Talk Books
I bought What to expect and I really don't find it that great. My Mom sent me a bunch - Mayo Clinic, Pregnancy Week by Week and one other that I don't recall. I haven't learned anything in them that I didn't already know from this site and others.
Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy was pretty funny and a quick read.
Now I'm reading Baby Bargains so I have the info I need when we register.
I then plan on reading a book on healthy sleep habits for babies. Someone posted on this site how they wish they had read it while they were PG so they had the knowledge when the baby was born and it makes sense.

Re: Lets Talk Books
i have the Hot mom to be handbook and just started Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy. I got what to expect on my kindle and kind of hated it.
i also have your pregnancy week by week and so far like it much better than what to expect. I can only read this books in moderation though before i get REALLY sick of them.
