Let's talk bras...

I need some help with bras. I'm only 17 weeks and my bras already kill me!!! And my nips are soooo itchy. Do I just go up a size?? Or do I buy maternity bras?? What did everyone do at this point!

And while we are on the subject...when did everyone stop wearing thongs???

Re: Let's talk bras...

I just went up a size at that point and bought regular bras.

I bought maternity bras a couple of weeks ago (I'm 34weeks now) that are a smidge big but I figured I'd need the room after I give birth.

I was wearing my regular thongs up until 2 weeks ago...when I bought maternity thongs. I might not look as good as I used to from the back but there's no need for me to be uncomfortable. Chat Icon

I went from a 32C to 36D by wk 8 or 9. I just bought some at Century 21 (I got $60 Natori bras for $10 there!).

I recently switched from my regular thongs to Old Navy maternity thongs - my reg. thongs were getting severely damaged by my ever-spreading hips Chat Icon

I could have written this post. At 21 weeks the 36D bras I bought at 9 weeks are getting snug. I think The girls are going through yet another growth spurt. I am scared to see what they will look like after the baby.

Both my hips and a$$ are huge. I was always thin but curvy. Now I feel like I am just huge. DH loves it though.

Thanks for the tip. I already bought Old Navy maternity thongs, but I still need new bras and I work just a few blocks away from Century 21. Chat Icon

Re: Let's talk bras...

I've got u all beat!!!!!!

I had to get Goddess nursing bras in a 42F from a 36DDD!!!!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

And I stopped wearing the thongs - TMI here - when the lovely hemorrhoids reared their ugly head.....

ETS: I had gotten a maternity bra while at Motherhood one day (I was in my 16th - 20th week - don't exactly remember), but that bra was treacherous.... I am so mad that I spent the $ on it.... When I went to Georgette's, the fitter told me that she couldn't understand how they get away with selling these bras..... that they were all cr@p....

Re: Let's talk bras...

I just bought bigger bras. I was told at the store that maternity bras are the same as nursing bars (is that right?) I figured I didn't want to buy them yet if I don't know if Im going to nurse.

Re: Let's talk bras...

I was on Northern Blvd today and my undies have been falling down, so I stopped at the Pea in a Pod/Mimi/Motherhood store gave in and bought 3 three packs of pantys - I laughed at the thongs... won't be doing those till my bod is back after the baby and I'm back to my pre-baby size... I got bikinis. I stopped wearing thongs weeks ago... pregnancy is uncomfortable enough.

I inquired about bras, they are overly pushy at that store... the prenatal bras were like $45. I'm hoping to get some GC's for destination maternity... I would invest in 1 or 2. I'll need to switch to nursing bras when the baby is born, so I'm not going to buy too much but I want to be comfortable too.

Re: Let's talk bras...

I'm 16w4d and I finally caved and bought new bras yesterday!! The bands were soooo tight on my bras it felt like I couldn't breath. Also, I was starting to get major spillover.
I had gone to Target and Kohls and couldn't find anything that fit right.
Yesterday I went to Blum's in Patchogue and one of the ladies measured me - I now have 2 new bras - so comfy!!
I went from a 32DD to a 36DD.

Re: Let's talk bras...

at first I went up a size. (regular and underwire)

But now I had to go up another cup size and just opted to buy a few nursing bras at kohls (got them on sale for $9 and SO COMFY!)

I went with a soft cup, so that when my cup goes up again (I am sure it will as I get closer) it hs more room to give) then I can make my hopefully LAST purchaseChat Icon at the end for my nursing bras.
