We have the Simple and Secure Gate from 1st Years and it's been great so far. We have it at the top of our stairs.

I bought this one and love it.

We have this one at the bottom of the gate and another one at the top:
I watned one for the top that was specifically made for that, and only swings one way, so it can not be pushed open over the stairs.
