Let's talk grey hairs

I have a few...I pluck them. Does plucking really cause MORE to grow? Also...the hairs are few and far between...maybe the most I have found recently is 3 at once. But they are short and wire-like. What's the deal?!

Re: Let's talk grey hairs

just say no to grey!

I color..I only have maybe 10 on my head at any given time but I refuse to be grey for any period of time.

I have dark hair and it really shows!

For my colorinng brings out more body and depth to my natural color. It makes my hair feel very soft and shiny too.

If it really bothers you go for it, but you are better off cutting them out than pulling them.

Re: Let's talk grey hairs

My grey hairs are like yours, they have a mind of their own and stick up all over the place.
I pluck them out but I have so many now that if I continued to pluck, I would be bald in certain areas on my head.

I agree that coloring your hair makes it so shiny and healthy looking. I love the look of newly dyed hair. I comes out shiny in pictures too!!

Do you do a rinse? I don't want to color my hair as in dye, but I do like glazes and rinses. Maybe I need to get them more often...Chat Icon

I have the same issue.
I dye my own hair with semi-permanent dye every 2 months or so.

You just go to a salon and ask for a glaze or a rinse...depending on what shade you want. I mean, you can't get a glaze to go black to blonde, but if you are brown and want red tones, a glaze is great. They wash out, but they last quite a long time and provide shine and I guess cover some sparse greys....they are like $40-$50

Re: Let's talk grey hairs

My hairdresser yelled at me for plucking out my greys...he said that I'll just end up with short, grey pieces sticking out all over the place!
I just get color and a glaze every 2 months.

No I go for the dye job every 2-3 months or so. I used to do a rinse myself (wash out in like 16 washes from the box) but it turns out that my hair was becoming two colors. Now I just go to the salon.
