Lets talk jump drives
I have a 4GB kingston jump drive...
Why is it after I delete something from it... a large file or something
It STILL says I'm at 3.74GB capacity..
is there something special I have to do when deleting files?

Using Windows?
There might be a hidden recycle bin on the drive. If you uncheck 'hide hidden files and folders' under windows explorer tools --> options you may see it - and then can delete it.
Make sure to shift-delete if you really want to delete something, then it won't goto the recycle bin.

Re: Lets talk jump drives
Does it ALWAYS say less than 4GB? Windows formats the drive, and that formatting takes up space. A 4GB drive will never have 4GB available. The same applies to hard drives. A 250GB drive will lose several GBs just in the formatting.

Glad to hear it. GoldenRod had a good suggestion too, after formatting you never have as much space as advertised.
