Let's talk Shelter Island??
I was thinking about going over for the day on Friday with the hubby to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. Need to know some places to eat at and to visit??
Where do you take the ferry from Greenport or Sag Harbour?
Can you do a day trip is it worth it??
I will also post on the travel board as well.

I'm sorry- I'm not going to be much help here as my only trips out to Shelter Island were with the youth group from my old church in Massapequa. They have a Methodist Camp out there and I chaperoned many years. It's truly beautiful
We always took the Greenport Ferry..

I'm sorry- I'm not going to be much help here as my only trips out to Shelter Island were with the youth group from my old church in Massapequa. They have a Methodist Camp out there and I chaperoned many years. It's truly beautiful
We always took the Greenport Ferry..
Same here - although my youth group was from Queens. I have wanted to go back someday with DH because of the beautiful memories I have from my childhood of weekends at Shelter Island

you can take either ferry, depending on where you are coming from. It is pretty over there, and you can definitely do it for the day.

We always took the Greenport Ferry..
The camp is still there - and it's still gorgeous! We go to the pridwin for a few days every summer, and on our walks we go over to the camp and check out the grounds. Shelter Island is one of my absolute favorite places.

We spent summers out at Quinipet too. I love it there! So many great memories!
