Let's talk towels

How often do you toss out your bath towels? Mine are finally looking shabby & I'm looking to replace them.

Opinions on best brands are needed. Which wash well, last the longest.

Thanks in advance!

My mom has no joke had her towels for 15-20 years!!! Chat Icon

FH and I bought Grand patrician or something like that. They have them at Fortunoff and JC penney with a lot of matching accessories.

They've held up really well over the past year and a half, but we got a really dark blue and for the first few washes, they left blue fuzz all over the place

Re: Let's talk towels

We have the Fortunoff Luxe towels and they are the softest, most amazing towels and I love them! Granted they have only been in use for two years, but they still look brand new. The only negative is that they are so thick and plush they take a long time to dry.

I love our Target towels -- they are very thick and I love how they look too.

Re: Let's talk towels

I LOVE the towels we registered for and highly recommend them. They are the 'Hotel Collection' from Macy's. So nice & soft and wash great. Still look brand new!

I am bad, I keep my towels forever. When they start getting think from over washing, then they become the dogs towelsChat Icon

Recently our towels are Martex & they were bought for us in Bed Bath & Beyond. They are quite nice.

We have towels from BBB and not sure of the brand but they are great. They wash so nice and so soft.

Re: Let's talk towels

i buy mine all over but my trick is.. I only buy WHITE towels.. so when they start looking a little shabby I soak them in bleach and viola!

Re: Let's talk towels

Up until getting married, I always kept my towels, because I only had 3 or 4 since it was just met, but DH and I had registered for the Ralph Lauren Towels at Fortunoff's. We didn't get any, but we just went this weekend to finish off our registry (and get our 10%!!!). They are the SOFEST towels!!!

I keep mine forever. I don't like the really thick ones, I feel like they don't soak up the water, and they take forever to dry. So I like them thin and worn. Chat Icon

I don't think I have never thrown them out. Unless they're ratty, other than that I keep them forever! Chat Icon

Re: Let's talk towels

I bought really snuggly thick towels from Home Goods (I love that store), I haven't had them very long, but they wash really nicely...and they were very inexpensive

Re: Let's talk towels

I haven't had them long enough to even consider this. As soon as they do start looking shabby I will definitely throw away and buy new ones - maybe new colors too! Chat Icon

Re: Let's talk towels

I keep my towels for the longest time. The ones we have now are only two years old, since they were all shower gifts. I threw out all my old ones back then and some of them were probably 10 years old. Chat Icon

Re: Let's talk towels

I only throw then away when they are torn etc..

But I have towels that we use just for the beach and the pool and they are the rattiest.

I have tons of towels from over the years. I think it's time for a clean out soon.
