lets talk towns...

we are hoping to move within the next year or so..... these are the towns we are discussing... any info/comments/thoughts on these towns as far as schools, family friendliness, etc.? TIA!!!

Sayville

Bay Shore/Brightwaters

Sayville is my favorite. My husband's Uncle lives there and the schools are great, great community. We have friends that have been looking to buy a house in Sayville also. Good Luck!

i grew up in bay shore and loved it! the schools are amazing and the town is very nice. while main street isn't as nice as babylon's, it's picking up a lot. the town gets a lot of bad rap because it's ethnically diverse and got hit hard when they de-institutionalized people way back when, but it's really not as bad as people make it out to be. they redid the schools in the past 5(?) years and they're gorgeous! brightwaters is the nicer part as all the houses are around the lakes, but you'll have to pay village taxes on top of your regular taxes and abide by the village rules.

I grew up a in Oakdale and hope to move back over that way some day. It is an awesome place to raise a family, the schools are great and the taxes are not too too crazy.
I would add East Islip to your search too, love it there as well.

Babylon Village is great and Brightwaters/Bay Shore as well. Both schools are diversed. I don't know about the others.

I grew up in Bay Shore/ Brightwaters, and still live here. I think the schools are pretty good, they were when I went through them anyway.

I live in a nice neighborhood. The people are friendly, and they watch out for your house, which can be a good and bad thing. :) The village is cute, but a little small.

I also love Babylon Village. It is really nice there. I've heard good things about the public schools. The private schools in Babylon are also really good.
