Lets Talk Tubal Ligation, and Vasectomies...
So after being advised my my OB/GYN (As well as a second and third opinion.) I have been advised NOT to have any more children... !!! It has taken me some time to come to terms with it. So DH and I have been advised to either do Tubal Ligation, or a Vasectomy. While I know DH would do it in a hot minute if I actually asked, I don't want him too. I feel as though if I were to ever die, or divorce him he could still go on to have more children, where as I am still at a stand still and will be for the rest of my life no matter who I am with. So what do you think I should do? Should I ask him to do a Vasectomy, or should I just bite the bullet and do a tubal. Any body have any experience? Or any advice?

Re: Lets Talk Tubal Ligation, and Vasectomies...
Honestly, I would have him do the vasectomy. My DH had one a few weeks ago and it was no big deal (well, he made out like it was a big deal because he is a total baby but it really was nothing ). A tubal ligation is WAAAAAAYYYY more invasive and a lot less certain than a vasectomy.
When we were discussing this very question with my OBGYN, she said, "If your husband will have the vasectomy, I suggest you go with that over a tubal ligation."
Just remember, if you do go with the vasectomy, make sure you get the all-clear from the urologist before you have unprotected sex. This is how my friend ended up with baby # 5!

I agree that I would ask DH to have a vasectomy because of the same reasons that the PP mentioned and because it's a reversible procedure.

DH will be having a vasectomy. But he's 41 and if I die or we separate for some reason know he's not going to want more kids. It's hard enough convincing him to have a 3rd b/c of his age.

My tubes are tied....
I had the Essure procedure done and it's about as non invasive as you can get....
Long story short I was planning on having my tubes tied after delivering my DS. 4 weeks before delivery I had to switch doctors and wound up delivering at a Catholic Hospital. Plan B was for me to have Essure..
It was done in the doctors office. I was in and out in under an hour....

DH had a vasectomy at 33. He knew/knows that these are the only kids for him. It was the best decision ever!!!
