Let's talk vacuums
So I have hardwood and carpet throughout (and a cat so lots of hair!!)
Is there a vacuum that works well on both? Right now I'm using a canister and I hate changing the attachments - I just want to hit a button or something. Is there such a thing?

My Dyson rocks at both bare floors and carpets & all you have to do is flick a switch!! I have the "low reach" and it's awesome!!  Dyson all the way!!
ETA: Pictures...I too have a cat (and he's super hairy)...even he loves the vacuum!!

The DC 07 is the first model made...so it's the original. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them...I would do the comparison thingie on their site.

awesome!  that's a great deal! I was able to use a 20% off coupon at B,B&B even though it says you can't use it on Dysons.

Really?  I got an mail from "refund cents"...I know, I'm a dork and bought it on sale. I'm sure it'll go back on sale!! Don't buy refurbished though.

I LOVE my Oreck XL Ultra! I have horrible allergies and it's the only vacuum I will ever use.
Bagless vacs don't work for me, but I know others who swear by them.
