Level 2 sonogram questions..anyone?
I have my level 2 sonogram tonight and I am so nervous. What exactly are they looking for and what will they be able to tell you?
Also, this is an external sonogram right? Which means all clothes stay on right? I am neurotic I swear! LOL
Also, will the tech tell us the findings (not the sex, we are not finding out) right there and then or do we have to wait to go to our obgyn to find out the results??
TIA!

It takes about 30 minutes - they measure and takes pictures of everything.....the arms, legs, head, spine, heart rate, heart chambers, brain.....it's really cool! And no, the tech can't tell you any results. They send those to your OB. Oh, but there was a doctor who came in after the tech was done just to do some looking around.
And it's clothes on except for your underwear because they need to also take a picture of your cervix, so they put this thing up against your, well, you know. If they can't get a good picture from the outside, then they do an internal.

When I went they measured all the anatomy and looked at the baby's heart. It's just more detailed sonogram then you normally get. The tech will usually do the sono and then the doctor comes in. I asked questions as she was going along and she told me that everything was looking good. You def won't have to wait for the results.

Re: Level 2 sonogram questions..anyone?
I just had mine on Friday. It's really very interesting. They look at everything...the brain, the heart, the spine, lips, all the organs like kidneys and the bladder, arms, and legs.
It doesn't hurt but you may have to lie in an uncomfortable position to move the baby to a new position.
With my Level II, I was told if anything was "wrong", I would see a doctor afterwards. Everything was perfect!
Don't worry and just enjoy!

They looked at my cervix but did it via exteral u/s. I just had my pants and undies pulled down to wear my butt and leg meet but that was the most I was undressed. They look to make sure it's closed and upright????
