Level II issue need advice and Cardiologist Rec.
This is way too long.....sorry!!! 2 weeks ago i had my level 2 sono. Everything went well except that my baby was sleeping and the way it was positioned the Sono tech could not see the heart chambers or a part of the brain. So.... i had a follow up sono today. My baby now flipped and was lying on its tummy.....making it impossible to see the heart once again! Ugh!!! Soooo....since they attempted twice they said i had to make an appointment no later than next week at Madonna and meet with the cardiologist there since the dr. knows what to look for and they dont need such clear images. Fine...no problem. I call Madonna....the cardiologists next available appointment was for September 10th or something!!!! My Dr's office calls Madonna and they checked my records and the lady at Madonna says that I dont HAVE to get his done as quickly as next week because they were able to get some images and the few images that they got were fine.....to call on the 24th and make an appointment for the Fetal Echo for sometime in September. I don't know what to do....i don't feel comfortable waiting that long....its the heart....not a finger or something. Does anyone have any recommendations a baby cardiologist (don't know the correct term). Has this happened to anyone? Would you feel comfortable waiting?
UGHHHH!

Re: Level II issue need advice and Cardiologist Rec.
I went for my Level 2 and they found a problem with DD's heart. Either a calcium deposit or a hole. I was told these results at my OB's appt on 8/6. I called the specialist that they gave me (affiliated with Good Sam) and got an appt for a Fetal Echocardiogram on 8/18. There are several doctors that work there. HTH!! Here is the info:
Dr. Marion B. Rose, MD Center For Pediatrics Specialists Care 655 Deer Park Ave Babylon, NY 11702 (631) 321-2100

I had both of my fetal echocardiograms done at Schneiders Childrens Hospital...Dr. Bierman's (sp) office.
I highly recommend them

Re: Level II issue need advice and Cardiologist Rec.
Thank you ladies! I guess i'll figure this all out tomorrow. I'm not worried....because they haven't given me reasons to be....i just have a stubborn baby who is ALWAYS in the WORST positions!!!! I just figured that they would continue to schedule sonograms until they got what they wanted....oh well!
Thanks once again!!!

I had the same issue and went here as well. I didn't have to wait very long for an appt. They were great.

First I'm sure everything will be fine.
Second, I just wanted to say that Dr. Bierman is Cheif of Pediatric Cardiology at Schneider's and is WONDERFUL. He was actually MY cardiologist when I was young and had a serious heart condition. He was the ONLY dr. who was able to diagnose and treat me. So, I would definitely reccommend him. He is world renowned, literally..he travels to different countries and performs surgeries.
