Leveling Yard

Looking to have this done in the fall. Our backyard is not very level, we had tried to fill some areas ourselves but it's not enough. Does anyone have experience with this or company recommendations? TY!!

we had our front yard "fixed" after we pulled out some huge bushes, demoed a raised patio and did construction for a year. the yard was a lot of sand, and ditches and just generally needed to be tore up and leveled. the back yard had some bushes taken out in a spot and had a big ditch.

we had our masonary contractor who was going to do steps to our porch and the front path deal with it. he took his bobcat and leveled a bit then added yards of topsoil and gave it a nice grading. I seeded myself and used peat moss to cover to grow grass. it worked out great

for your purposes, I'd contact a landscaper, or look for a company that does sod or seeding since you probably don't need the masonary work done. we had him do it b/c we were doing the path and stoop and asked him to do it as an add on. for the record, not all "top soil" is created equal. I got some delivered to my last house and it was definately low quaility, with rocks etc and had trouble growing grass. whatever he got was darker in color, no rocks and when I seeded, used peat moss, and watered extensively, grass came in looking like sod.

TY! I remember our masonary contractor telling us he would do it when we have a patio done in the yard. We just can't seem to decide what we want to do, we don't plan on staying more than a few years.

I will contact a landscaper and see what they can do. And I totally agree re: top soil! We had some delivered and it was awful..I can't even tell you how much glass I found!! Here I am trying to make the yard safe for my kids, I never in a million years thought I would have to worry about glass.

I dont know where you're located, but I used Munch Landscaping in West Islip 2 years ago. After using another company to remove a bunch of trees and brush our land was pitching towards the house and created a total mess. Munch came in and regraded the entire backyard and 2 sides to pitch away from the house. I was very happy with the work they did.
