levittown ranch home questions

Hi, possibly an odd question, but hopefully someone can help.

Since its getting cold out, I wanted to shut the water off to the hose faucet outside.

I found the pipe which goes outside to this faucet which is under our sink, basically between the kitchen and bathroom wall.

Only problem, there doesn't seem to be a shut off valve.

Is this normal, I mean the majority of the plumbing is inside the house where it is warm, only about 4" of the pipe sticks outside which is the pipe and faucet itself.

I just don't want to have a burst pipe in this fridged weather.

UPDATE

Maybe someone is a plumber and can help with the above?

Anyway I was under the sink trying to trace all the piping.

The pipe that supplies my cold water to my hose faucet has a line branching out which runs to my washer and then the cold water to my kitchen sink is tapped off of that line.

There is a shut off, but it shuts off the line which branches to the washer machine and the kitchen cold water is tapped off of that line before the shutoff. And of course the main shutoff which turns everything off.

Hope I didn't confuse anyone, but figure Levitt owners must have something similar.

Thanks

DH says not every house has a shutoff for it. He said just make sure it's closed and your hose is emptied of water. He said you can buy a cover for it if you want too.

I never shut ours off. My spigot is in my garage. I just roll up the hose and make sure all of the water is out of the hose. I have a levitt cape
