So funny i am a teacher on leave from city with son in kinder and I cant figure out what reading program they are using and at open school night she didnt really say. Universal pre-k was at two schools this year Kiddie Junction and Tender Garden. My daughter is currentlly enrolled in nursery at Kiddie Junction and WE LOVE it! I am hoping we get picked for the UPK lotto!

LOL! My kid goes to Lee Road! I think its hilarious that they cant give the name of their program....I don't really think they follow one and then they have other teachers pulling the students every day to work on reading...very confusing! The kicker is my son already knows how to read and when I asked," what are you going to do for him?" she really didnt have an answer.....so different from the programs in the city.
And it is definitely not Wilson......

Not from Levittown but that sounds like Fundations. Kids have to "tap" and "sweep" words with thier hands etc. I could ask someone I know who has children in Levittown and see if they know!

Re: levittown school district moms..
Ok, so I asked my neighbor who teaches K in Levittown. She said that every teacher is allowed to pick whichever program they want, so in her school every teacher uses a different one and none of them are using Fundations this year.
Sorry, I know that's not very helpful to you!

Levittown is a great school district, with excellent teachers & principals. It is a pro to have a teacher tailor a curriculum to students need rather than what is demanded.

AS a teacher who has been in education for 11+ yrs..i dont agree with each teacher picking there own reading program.. and there are many programs that do meet the needs of every student individually. to each there own if u love it then that's impt but for me i wouldn't be happy
