L.I. Ice Cream Store Manager Accused of Fondling Teen Workers
HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (AP) -- The manager of an ice cream parlor was arrested Tuesday for fondling teenage girls who worked there, police said.
Between the end of May and this month, the manager of the MaggieMoo's Ice Cream & Treatery at the Walt Whitman Mall, Gian Nagpal, inappropriately touched three employees at separate times, Suffolk County police said.
A 17-year-old girl reported the touching to police on July 10, and further investigation revealed two more victims, ages 14 and 16, they said. One of the girls was groped numerous times, they said.
Nagpal, 49, was arrested for multiple counts of sexual abuse, police said.
Nagpal, of Dix Hills, said he had fired the high school girls because they used drugs. He denied groping them at the franchise store, which serves ice cream treats in flavors such as Maggie's Fudge and Udderly Cream.
"These are stupid charges,'' he yelled.
