LI IVF patients
I am currently going through my IVF cycle (am on BCP and will start lupron next week). I went to the orientation the other night, and they spoke about meeting with the social worker. The nurse who ran the program said it was mandatory, but I thought I read on here that it was really encouraged, but optional. Anyone know?
I currently see a therapist regularly and don't want to go see "one of their's"...

I don't know but Dr. K waived it for me. I don't see a therapist but he said I could waive it if wanted and I said ok.

Re: LI IVF patients
i was told at our orientation that it's not mandatory- b/c they can't 'force' you to go see a social worker but it was 'highly recommended'. HTH!

Re: LI IVF patients
I thought it was mandatory. I would think that you could go to your own therapist. I think theirs is a list of suggested therapists. We went to the therapist and found it interesting. It was only an hour and she just went over the pros and cons of IVF and spoke to us about where we were in regards to the process and how we would deal if it didn't work.

Re: LI IVF patients
I'm pretty sure they said it was optional, yet strongly advised.. I skipped it.

Re: LI IVF patients
I was thinking about this also since I already have my own therapist who specializes in IF issues.
