LI IVF- social worker question
I got the checklist in the mail just to start preparing myself for IVF which I will start in October/ November.
I saw that they mandate you to see a social worker. Does anyone know approximately how much does that run? do certain insurance companies pick that up? Im so confused.
Also what fees are they talking about? Is that out of pocket or insurance will cover it?
Im sorry guys this list is just so overwhelming I started to freak a little...
It it helps I have GHI (NYC teacher)

Re: LI IVF- social worker question
When I first started 10/07 going to LI-IVF for IUI's they made me go see a social worker in Great Neck.
I don't recall the Social worker taking insurance. I believe we had to pay $75.00 out of pocket, but she was extremely nice and very knowledgeable, so it was well worth it.
Good Luck!!!

Re: LI IVF- social worker question
We saw one of the social workers and had to pay $135 OOP----she said she doesn't deal w/ insurance. We asked her for a receipt so we could submit it to the insurance, but we never got one.
I have some feedback about her that I'd prefer not to post----if you're curious, FM me and I'll let you know.

Re: LI IVF- social worker question
I have an appointment with one of their social workers on Sept 8th. I have to pay $135, but can submit the receipt to my insurance for reimbursement.
I will also be doing an IVF cycle in October. I received my package last week in the mail and have called my nurse several times since with all my questions. If you are feeling overwhelmed, I definately would recommend calling them. They are extremely friendly and helpful.

that means we will be IVF buddies!!! You are so ahead of the game~! I just got the checklist and the nurse told me to call mid september to start setting up appointments. Did they tell you something else?

Re: LI IVF- social worker question
We saw Dr. Harriet Ferguson in Smithtown last year. We really liked her. $100 for 1 hour.
