Lifetime Fitness Syosset- Good for families?

DH and I were thinking about joining lifetime fitness in syosset. I hear they have an indoor and outdoor pool and with DS coming at the end of May I wanted somewhere we could go where DD who is currently almost 20 months, could have fun and relax, while giving DH and I something to do (work out, pool, etc) that is close to home.

Is it worth the $200 a month membership for the family? How is it during the summer months, super crowded?

It's a great facility! It does get very very crowded on the weekends during the summer. If you aren't there early you won't get a spot outside. We joined when it first opened, but just left it was just too far from our house. The childcare is amazing, I have an infant and never hesitated using the infant room. The gym itself is great too and there are always machines available. The only place you really feel the crowd is the outdoor pool during the summer. The outdoor pool isn't bad during the weekday. Just a heads up there are no visitor passes for the outdoor pool until after 5 on weekdays and none on the weekend.

Its terrific for families..we chose it because it seemed geared for families

Yes! We checked it out when it first opened, but did not join for a few reasons. All the families at my kids school are members! they love it. The moms work out in the morning after dropping the kids at school and take the kids there on weekends.

I take my kids to the outdoor pool at Syosset-Woodbury park. They love it. Of course, not the same type of comparison.
