Lifting restrictions after IVF?

have a 20 month old who is 30 pounds and had my IVF transfer this past Saturday. My husband has been home with me to lift my son onto the changing table etc and today I have someone helping but tomorrow chose to be on my own. I'm a little scared. Anyone in this situation? The nurses say try not to lift him until the pregnancy test then the doctor states that teenagers get pregnant, do not know it, do crazy things and are fine.

I have a 2 year old also and was just told no lifting the day of and after the transfer and then I could go back to normal. I wound up with a BFP and my son likes to be held all the time!. I never heard no lifting until the test. Your body is used to carrying your son, so it wont be putting extra strain on you. it's different than if you were lifting something much heavier than what you are used to.

My doctor said that it really should not make a difference and the bed rest is just really a precaution.

I have a 3 yr old that I don't lift very often, but asked my Dr (my transfer should be next week) and he said the same as Lola - just day of and day after take it easy.
