Light spotting...
I know I heard it's normal and I feel fine... just a little concerned. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm exactly 9 weeks today. I had light spotting over a week ago and that was due to sex and then I went to the gym. Two days later I had my 8 week sono and everything was fine... baby is getting big and I heard and saw the HB.
I just went to the bathroom b4 to pee and when I was done a few brown spots dripped in the toilet. I feel perfectly fine. I know it's not from sex since we haven't done it since Sat. Anyone else have light spotting in the first tri?

Re: Light spotting...
I had brown spotting twice in my first tri. Once just before 6 weeks and once just before 9 weeks. Neither time was accompanied by cramping and the dr. told me it was probably just old blood. I think you're most likely fine, espcially since you already saw a strong HB, but give your dr a call if you'd like, it may help to ease your fears.

Thanks! I figured I'd wait if there's more... I just pee'd and it was two, light brown spots so I'll keep peeing (which isn't hard for me to do anyway) and see if there's anything else. That's ironic I'm spotting the same two times you did... right at 6 weeks and now again at 9 weeks, but 6 weeks was more and the Dr said that was from sex and then going to the gym the next day

Re: Light spotting...
Spotting early in pregnancy usually before 10 weeks is usually caused by implantation of the embryo into the uterine wall. Your bean is burrying nice and deep!
Usually this kind of spotting is brown and can be light pink.
You can also spot from S E X or exercise as well. A lot of women notice light pink spotting after S E X, this is caused by an overly sensitive uterus.
It is good to mention the spotting to your practitioner so that they are aware but don't be alarmed.
If the spotting gets heavy, bright red, or crimson colored, you have clots and are cramping then call your practitioner right away!
Happy and healthy 9 months!

Re: Light spotting...
I had unexplained (red) bleeding at 11 weeks. You're right that it's common to bleed/spot during the first trimester. If you don't have any cramping and it's very light, I wouldn't worry. You can always call your doctor for peace of mind.
When I had my bleeding scare, my doctor's office told me to drink at least a 1/2 gallon of water b/c that could calm an irritated cervix. Try to stay hydrated and take it easy.

Re: Light spotting...
Thanks ladies! I feel better... it's very light, brown spotting and I haven't noticed it again. Plus, I feel fine. If anything changes I'll call the Dr, but for now it seems to be a normal thing.
