Lindenhurst School District?

Does anyone know about the Lindenhurst school district? We love the area and have heard the schools are good. My one concern is my older DS has autism and need a school that has a good autism program. Would love any feedback!!! thanks!!!Chat Icon

The schools are good. They are not the top or bottom. We wanted to live there but did not find the right house. I do not know how their programs are though for special needs .

Re: Lindenhurst School District?

I've heard worse stories. I taught there (elementary & hg) for 1/2year, a few years ago. I'm not sure if it's a good thing when a president of the PTA was hoping her kindergarden youngest could finish elementary, the oldest was heading from 5 to private.

I heard about middle school students being caught giving oral sex in stairwells.

I also taught in Hg school & they had some great programs & teachers, BUT some horrible times breaking up fights in the locker room & the nasty attitudes the kids would give me.

Just giving an honest answer

I work in the district and love it. Their ABA program
is fantastic. I would absolutely feel comfortable sending DS to school there!

Yes, I have also heard their ABA program is really really great!!!

I recently moved here from Queens in May and literally every single day that I am here, I love the town more and more. Prior to looking in the area, I did A LOT of research and comparison to other areas. From the stats and info I gathered, the elementary schools and even the middle schools are in a higher percentile of schools when compared to other districts in LI, than the high school is. TBH, I didnt do a ton of research on high schools though since I dont even have children yet, and in 16 years, a lot could change. in any case, JMHO, that it's a great place to live, to raise children and send them to school.

If you found something you love you should move on it. You can always shop around for mortgage after your offer is accepted
