Lindsay Lohan's dad sends open letter to The Sun
LINDSAY LOHAN’S jailbird dad has sent an astonishing open letter to The Sun – in a desperate bid to heal the rift with his estranged daughter.
Irish-born Michael Lohan’s moving, hand-written text sheds light on the bizarre private life of the stunning actress — one of the biggest showbiz stars on the planet and worth an estimated £25MILLION.
The Mean Girls star’s father was locked up in the US last year for drink-driving and violent behaviour.
Ever since, wild child Lindsay has refused to visit or communicate with him. But Michael is desperate for a reconciliation — so he can warn the 20-year-old about the dangers of her hellraising lifestyle.
He is worried that Lindsay is now surrounded by people riding on her coat-tails — and acting against her best interests.
Michael, 45, wanted to publish his deeply personal writings in a major newspaper because all his other attempts to make contact have failed.
He writes: “It pains me to have to write to you like this, but it’s evident that my letters never reach you. My messages never get to you and ‘people’ continue to build walls between us.
“I can’t even begin to tell you how very sorry I am for causing you (and our family) the heartache and embarrassment I have.
“I hold you absolutely blameless for all that’s been said and portrayed, as I know it has been under the advice of others, to sway both the courts and public opinion.
“I also know the pain that comes with love, especially when two hearts and lives are divided. Sometimes we run — we seek to hide or just escape from the pain.
In the meantime, people are either whispering in our ear, giving self-serving advice, or out to protect their own interests.
“Unfortunately sweetheart, while you are so talented and blessed you have become their interest! As I told you all along, this would happen.”
Michael was sentenced to four years in a New York jail last year after admitting drink driving, attempted assault, aggravated harassment and criminal contempt.
When he crashed his car into a lamppost on Long Island, he had an invalid driving licence and was twice the legal alcohol limit. The prosecutor also took into account an incident where he attacked his brother-in-law with a shoe.
Michael, who has been accused of cocaine abuse, asked to go into rehab but was jailed instead. It was a dramatic fall from grace for the former Wall Street trader. He split from Lindsay’s mum Dina in 2004 after 19 years of marriage.
He has since tried to sue Dina for half her earnings — most of which came from being Lindsay’s manager.
The young actress is still disturbed by her dad’s behaviour, which has caused her untold heartache.
She once described him as “Self-destructive, full of anger and bitterness” and added: “He’s never done anything for my family or career. I don’t have any respect for him.”
Lindsay even recorded a song last year, Confessions Of A Broken Heart, in which she sang: “Tell me the truth, did you ever love me?” Michael decided to try to repair the damage this week after reading stories about Lindsay’s increasingly turbulent life.

Everyweek....geez...enough...Either she is doing something stupid to get in the news or her family is to keep her in. Everything she does is a publicity stunt.
my thoughts exactly...."over it!"
