Linea Negra vs. Skin Complextion ~ POLL
Just curious of the group results and if skin complextion has anything to do with it...
I have Italian in me but I have my dad's German/Irish fair skin and I do not have a linea negra. I have a Smurf trail (hair), always have, but no line.

I have a dark/olive complexion and my linea negra is very dark... it's been noticeable since early 2nd tri.

i have very, very fair skin. my linea negra was very faint, didn't show up until later in the third tri, and was gone within weeks after DS was born, if not days.

I have pretty fair skin - definitely on my belly!! And my line is very faint (but noticable) and I'd say it started around 24 weeks give or take.

Thanks for the topic! I was just trying to figure this out yesterday. I am very fair with blue eyes and my husband is arabic (olive) for my first DD it literly looked like someone took a dark brown marker and drew a line down my belly!!! even the lady doing my sono could not get over it! this started in my 2nd trimester!
Now I am 2 weeks away from delivery with #2 and have absolutly nothing?! very very odd

I'm on the olive side and I had it DARK with all 3 girls. My 1st DD was even born with the line. It didn't go away on her for a few months and for me it lasted a long time. As soon I got pg again 7 years later.. the line appreared instantly. It was kinda cool.
This time no line at all. I still have a very faint line from my DD who was born over a year ago.
I wonder why I didn't get it this time?

Wow... that is odd. I wonder what it is and what makes it come but obviously based on the mixed results, skin complexion has nothing to do with it. Interesting.

it is!!! gonna ask at my Dr tomorrow about it. nothing to worry about but SOOO strange!
my first daughter has slight olive skin, green eyes and light hair...maybe this one will be very light but in the sono's she looks like she has sooo much dark hair

i'm too early for it now but, with my DS mine was dark and lasted for over a year after he was born. I am 100% italian - I'm not "dark" but i am not fair at all - so i didn't fall into your choices but i would say im a medium/olive complexion.

I have a tan complexion and I have it.
But I have always had one, even not pregnant. It is just more noticable now.
