LIPA/KEYSAPN increase
Anyone else annoyed about the increase in the LIPA and Keyspan bills? Isn't it expensive enough to live on LI??

Because LIPA generates the majority of our electricity through the burning of oil the increase was inevitable due to the increased price in oil. I do think that it is wrong that they really pass along a rate increase as a fuel surcharge and they get away with it. If it is a fuel surcharge shouldn't that rate flucuate with the price of oil instead of a flat percentage increase???
Honestly, the only way we get out from under that is move towards developing alternative power sources.

The "Fuel surcharge" the company instituted due to the rising cost of oil. They generate our power through the burning of oil. I can't remember the percentage off hand but it's either 15 or 30%

Yes, my bill went up from $74 to $91 for the next 10 months of my budget billing!! I HATE moving money around that I don't have!

 Enjoy that now, once you guys move in ( by the way you are doing a wonderful job!!!) that will change bigtime!!!!! Our bill we just got was 379.00 and thats for every 65 we get billed and it changes all the time over the summer it was over 700
