Little girl discharge?
I know when Emily was in the hospital she had a whole big amount of discharge from her private area and the nurses said it's normal because of the hormones at birth.
Today though I noticed a tiny little drop of discharge in her wet diaper and it looked very very pale pink, but as if there was a tiny bit of blood in it. Is this still the normal discharge? Or is this something I should be concerned about and call her doctor? It was maybe about half the size of a pencil eraser.

Re: Little girl discharge?
Ryan had this in the hospital... it was in a few diapers... I ran down to the nurses station in a panic..with the diaper... They told me it was 100% normal...and it was hormones...
Then I saved the next diaper for the peditrician and showed him...he agreed, saying its much more common in girls... however it does happen in boys as well...
No need to worry

Re: Little girl discharge?
Miranda had some bloody discharge her first week or so at home. Totally normal. I'm surprised they didn't tell you that.

Re: Little girl discharge?
I saw a huge glob of discharge in her diaper in the hospital (I only got to change her once because she was in the NICU) and I asked about it and the nurse said it's my hormones coming out of her body...and that it's totally normal. it just looked white/clear to me and not pink,so when i saw the pink I worried.

Re: Little girl discharge?
Okay, I think it's normal. I'm not going to worry. If it gets worse I'll call the doctor. It's seriously such a tiny amt.

They told me that little girls can actually have a "mini period" due to the mother's hormones. Both the nurses and the ped told me this.
