"Little Man" documentary (preemie)
Has anyone seen this?
I saw it today and it was very moving. It was about a lesbian couple's stuggles with their son who was born 100 days premature. Nicole Conn was one of Nicholas' Mommies and the filmmaker. She said she made the movie because she wanted everyone to understand what a struggle it was to have a preemie. It's really difficult to watch and not for the faint of heart, you really have to be prepared for an emotional journey, but I believe it is a movie that helps people understand the struggle that I know several LIF moms have been through, and it also shows what a worthy cause the March of Dimes Walk was. It's on Showtime On Demand for anyone who is interested. for all the moms and dads of preemies.

little man is a searing and riveting portrait that follows the premature birth of baby Nicholas James Baba-Conn who was born 100 days early and weighed under 1 pound. Nicholas’ struggle to hold onto life parallels the struggle of a marriage perilously close to disaster in an “an edge-of-your-seat, heart-in-your-throat suspense story” (LA Times) that will “affect audiences long after they've passed through the lobby.”
“As the film explores the extraordinary bonds of motherhood and the depths of love for family,” the viewer is shown a "...generous and uncompromising testament to love and determination. Long after the film ends, Nicholas and his family and the burning heart that this film lays bare are impossible to shake." salon.com
“An unusually honest film... an inspiration” Dana Stevens, New York Times
“Riveting. A cosmic high five” “Nicholas' feisty spirit leaps off the screen.” Anne Stockwell, The Advocate

Way too painful for me to watch - it is scary to read about the NICU life and know exactly everything they went though..........
I do hope with all of my heart to be able to watch it someday. The picture of Nicholas at birth shows you all how small CJ truly was

I thought of you the whole time.
And I was also thinking how it would be impossible for someone who has been through it to watch, but I was glad for the opportunity to understand more of what you have been through.

Having had and lost a preemie myself, I thought this was an amazing thing for them to do, I didnt watch it, but would like to, I dont have showtime. I read a LOT about it, Im impressed with the tact and care they put into it.

I was thinking of you and praying for you too. I can't imagine what you've been through.
It was really a beautiful film. I can't believe the courage it took to have that entire experience on film and to be so honest about it. Don't forget, she was filming her OWN experience, and it showed the ups and the downs, and the very difficult decisions. One particularly compelling aspect of the film was that one of the women really wanted to listen to the doctors and let the baby go, and the other one fought the world, basically, to keep him alive. It really showed what a difficult process it is and all of the terrible decisions involved that no one should ever have to make. I know I can never understand what you've been through, but I think this movie really shed a lot of light, and I hope a lot of people watch it. It's one thing to hear about what it's like, and another thing to see the process, even on film. It was like night and day.
