little red bumps
Lily has little red bumps on her arms, one leg and her face. They don't seem to be bothering her at all, she has no fever, and she's in a fantastic mood. They've been there for a few days...any idea what it might be? We're going to the doctor at 11 to see....

Re: little red bumps
Could it be heat rash of some sort? Or are they bigger bumps?

Re: little red bumps
They look like bug bites, in my opinion. But they're not itchy because she's not scratching them. I have a terrible reaction to bug bites and I scratch them until I get scars (gross, I know - but I do it in my sleep and I can't help it!) My husband doesn't react at all to bug bites, and they go away quickly. So I'm wondering if that's what they are... My mom is a nurse and she didn't think it was heat rash. Of course, she mentioned it looks like coxsackie or the chicken pox...so now I'm a nervous wreck!

I was going to say coxsackie, because it is going around like crazy. Usually a fever comes before it, but not always. My son had coxsackie on his body, and it didn't bother him at all. The worst of coxsackie is when it is in their throat.
Hope it turns out to be nothing!

Re: little red bumps
With coxsackie, how many bumps usually show up? She's only got about 13 bumps, and she isn't getting any more.

Re: little red bumps
Strictly from what you are describing Im going to say its some kind of contact dermatitis...
Caden gets it too...especially when DH has been kissing him a lot. He gets it from his beard.

When Victoria had coxsackie - the rash came after the fever and throat sores. The rash was on her torso and legs. Some bumps were more prominent than others, but they never bothered her.
Did she show any other coxsackie signs? Not eating, feverish?

Re: little red bumps
Well, it turns out it's nothing . The doctor thinks it's either bug bites, or some kind of a virus working it's way out. And there's nothing we can do about it really, except try not to look at them! I'm just sad they have to be on her pretty little face!
If it is a virus though, this kid has one heck of an immune system for a non-daycare kid! She never once complained. She showed no signs of being sick. She's been running around like a little nut with little bumps on her!
Thanks everyone!!
