Little Shelter needs your help.
Little Shelter Animal Rescue is in great need of any assistance you can give. Unfortunately, the economy has hit everyone hard, including the shelters, too many Long Island shelters have closed due to lack of funding but there are still dogs and cats that need help. Little Shelter's donations have decreased tremendously.
They are in need of blankets, comforters or towels. If you have anything you don't need, please try and get it to them. If you live in Suffolk, please contact me and I will try and get to you and get the blankets to the shelter.
I don't volunteer for them, but they brought Zoey and Schultz to my family and I am forever grateful for that.
Thanks for any help you can give!

I was telling DH today that i needed to donate some stuff to them. I want to bring it this weekend. Do u think they would take an open bag of dog food. We used to buy prescription food for Porter, whom we got at little shelter, he has Colitis so needed prescription food. But we finally found a food with enough fiber that he doesn't need it anymore. There is like 3/4's of the bag left and i hate to throw it out it's over $40.00 a bag.

When I had called a few years ago, they did not take open bags of food.

Thanks to everyone who is going to donate!!
I was up there on Saturday with some donations from friends and from myself. Everyone there was very grateful.
They are in great need, so if you come across something or can spread the word, please do so!

Can you tell me where they are? I definintely have old towels and stuff, but I think I have old halti leads, choke chains, collars from when my dog was a puppy.

I dropped off a huge bucket of cat food and a blanket today.
I feel glad that I helped, but still sad that all those animals need to live there.
