? local farmer's markets
Does anyone know if you can haggle or get stuff discounted by going around closing time?
I read this as a piece of advice on how to save $$$ on fresh produce.
I go to the Amityville one but never have been late in the day.
TIA!

Re: ? local farmer's markets
you can always try - i know that at the ones in the city you can sometimes get deals late in the day because they don't want to have to worry about carting the stuff back to the farms. outside the city it might not be so far/difficult for them to transport it so you might not get as good a deal. but, it can never hurt to try!
the flip side is, of course, that if you wait to go to the market until the end of the day you won't have the greatest selection, so you can't do this with a specific plan in mind.
