Long trip at 23 weeks?

Would you plan a trip to Europe that would require taking a 14 hr plane trip at 23 weeks??

Re: Long trip at 23 weeks?

i would absolutely go! Who knows when you would have the chance again.

We went to italy 5 years ago, and DH PROMISED me we would go back, well 2 kids later, he regrets know saying NO to Italy for our honeymoon.

Go, enjoy, make sure you hydrate yourself on the plane and get up and walk around for circulation. Plane air is very dry.

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I was beginning to think I was crazy for planning a "babymoon" so far away. We are looking at a Mediterranean cruise with stops in Spain, France, and Italy. This will be our first child so we are trying to get to Europe now since we've never been there andn will probably not have another chance.

We drove down to Disney for over a week when I was 26 weeks pregnant. We had a great time! I say go for it!

That sounds wonderful! I absolutely fell in love with Italy, I didn't want to leave! My italian started coming back to me and i just loved every minute of it. My fav was Venice, then Rome, then Florence.

Have a great trip! Take lots of pics! I still have my great pics in my kitchen next to some souveniers i brought back, it takes me back everytime i do dishes :)

I think 23 weeks is perfect, you are not too pg, you are in that comfy stage of the 2nd trimester and the bad aches and pains prob will not have set in yet.

Get the okay from your doc and go, go, go!!

I think that is the best time to go. And who knows when you'll have the chance after the baby comes!

Re: Long trip at 23 weeks?

I've got to do a 15 hour car ride to GA when I'm 28 weeks. I'm dreading the car ride, but looking forward to getting away for a few days. The stinky thing is, we're leaving on a Friday, and coming back on a Wednesday...30 hours is a lot of car time within a few short days! Chat Icon
