LONGGGGGG...I have lost my dedication to this diet..and I need to get it back!

Has anyone fallen off track SO BAD and then tried to get back on???

I was doing so well at WW..I was attending every meeting no matter what, getting weighed in no matter how good or bad I did the week before, I was really into it.

Then my grandma got sick. I didnt have a sitter for the baby and no time to go anyway. In that time, I have tried to at least modify some stuff (no soda most of the times which is HUGE for me) but I havent counted points or focused. It doesnt help that I am in the nursing home most of the day and all there is are vending machines and a pizzeria in the area.

I really need to get back on track. I swore tonight this was it for me. After pizza, greek food and a donut..I cannot do this to myself anymore. I probably gained back everything I had lost. I am so sad.

I just dont feel like I can do it anymore. I know I lost some before..and that its possible..but I need motivation.

Who wants to give it to me?????

Its hard b/c you're going through a lot and on the run - but just sit back and say "ok, today is a new day and I'm going to make a better choice".

With the PCOS WW didn't work for me - I've been doing my own thing and the weight is FINALLY coming off.

I think maybe that is it too - WW is very structured (at least I think so) and the last thing you need right now is to sit and count points. Its not fitting into your lifestyle and maybe you just need a change.

If you want me to write you out what I've been eating and send you some recipies I use I'd be more than happy to do it.

Re: LONGGGGGG...I have lost my dedication to this diet..and I need to get it back!

Of course!!! I think anyone that struggles with weight issues has fallen off the wagon numerous times! I had fallen off so many times I was black and blue all over and didn't think I'd ever find the strength to get back on again because I had probably also broken some bones along the way Chat Icon BUT I did and so will you Chat Icon

One thing I've learned is that no matter how good it feels to just let yourself go completely at times, the worse it makes me feel. You end up on a slippery slope back to a place where you are not happy anymore and the cycle starts all over again.

I see that you are busy with your life right now, but you MUST make time to take care of yourself first. Okay maybe not first Chat Icon BUT you really need to take the time to do what you gotta do.

What was your motivation that kept you going to ww?? Why were you so adminant about losing weight? Remember where you were when you first walked in that door and how you feel now. Think about how great it was that first week when you felt like you were totally in control and that you could do this. You have to find it within yourself to walk back in that door again and to just start anew. You are not a failure for gaining weight back that you have lost. It hapens to the best of us, life happens.

I know this has been said before but the secret to what keeps me going this time around is my ww posse Chat Icon Every week I know they are going to be there and every week they know that I will be there too. We're a team and so supportive of each others losses or hard times. Maybe you can find a buddy to this with? One that will be as committed as you. Either way though, believe in yourself. You've done it once before, you can do it again.

Good luck Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: LONGGGGGG...I have lost my dedication to this diet..and I need to get it back!

I am dealing wiht the dedication issue right now. I have not counted points since the end of June. It all started with the 4th of July, then Cabo (I gained 5 lbs), then my birthday. My weigh in day is tomorrow. I don't even want to go. I should just go to get myself in gear. I am afraid they are going to say I gained another 5 lbs.

I think I just need to step on that scale, accept the number and get back on track. My leader always says, what's done is and and you can really only look forward and not beat yourself up over the past.

Just remember, you have done great with losing and a few set backs with points should not keep you from being happy with yourself and your body. You can do it! Before you know it you will be loosing whatever bit you did gain and then you will be back on track to goal.

Good luck!
