Look at this e-mail I just was sent by a client-I assume she was hacked
I'm writing this with tears in my eyes,my family and i came down here to Manila,Philippines for a short vacation to visit a resort and got mugged at gun point last night at the park of the hotel where we lodged.All cash,credit cards and cell were stolen off me. thank God i still have my passport ID with me, I've been to the embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all,our flight leaves today and I'm having problems settling the hotel bills, we still have some money in our account but we don't have access to it right from here.
The hotel manager won't let us leave until i settle the hotel bills($2,300 USD)now am freaked out.Please reply and let me if can you have the money wire to me through Western Union i promise to pay back as soon as i get back home.

100% hacked.
ETA: Funny story: DH was hacked and an email was sent out with a similar message except apparently he was stranded in London. We had just gotten married but while we were planning, he was in contact with a lot of our vendors via email. Well after this spam email went out, he got a response from the hotel where we had our room block basically yelling at him for asking for money from them and all this other stuff. It was pretty funny!

The wording is "off".
Ranks right up there with the Nigerian finance minister wanting to share the contents of abandoned bank accounts.

Absolutely.
I have gotten this before and even got emails AND facebook messages from the same person,
I knew something was fishy but the person was actually chattin with me on facebook. I was like "oh no what happenned" and they went into the story and it seemed fake, but the person kept going. I guess it actually works

LOL wow
The grammar alone would make me laugh. No one I know speaks or writes like that anymore.
ALL hotels get your credit card info up front. They have NO issues with you leaving. 
Oh how we love scams.

DH got hacked and it was sent to me from him. It said he was stuck in Rome. Funny thing was he was in the bathroom at the time I saw the email.
I knocked on the door and asked how the weather was in Rome.
He came out the bathroom like

This was the exchange I had with the person who hacked my friend Stacey's account. I figured I'd have some fun & maybe for a bit, he'd be thinking that he was getting paid & not bother anyone else.

When they hack d my aol account, they asked for it to be sent to a western union in cardiff as well. My rheumatologist emailed me back to check if I was ok bc hes from there!

Its a scam. Happened to a few friends of my moms. One got a phone call while her husband was out hunting that her husband hit his son and that she needed to send money to him otherwise he was going to kill them. She went driving like a lunatic until she saw a cop and he told her you've been scammed. Call your husband. She did and he answered and had no idea what she was talknig about. Same for another friend who's mother was called and said her son was arrested and needed her to send bail money. It was all a scam

My aunt got a call that it was me and I had an accident in Mexico and needed 3000. Good thing my cousin was with her and told her it was a scam. She would have wired the money.

Ha! I love this. I've been looking for apartments in Amsterdam, and I've had a few of these types of conversations with people. I wonder if he/she ended up actually sitting and waiting at WU!
