Looking for a book or movie to share with a group of teenage girls that deals with

violence in teenage relationships. I am not looking for rape (Not using Speak) as the primary focus but more in the way of physical/mental abuse.

What is out there if anything?

I don't know if this is any help, but the NSPCC in the UK has started a campaign this week about abuse in teenage relationships, here is some further information about it:

I did a quick search on Novelist and came up with these.

Breathing Underwater by Alex Flinn

Summary: Sent to counseling for hitting his girlfriend, Caitlin, and ordered to keep a journal, sixteen-year-old Nick recounts his relationship with Caitlin, examines his controlling behavior and anger, and describes living with his abusive father.

The Breakable Vow by Kathryn Clarke

Summary: After eighteen-year-old Annie becomes unexpectedly pregnant, she marries her boyfriend, but slowly realizes that he is abusive and that she must decide what she can and will do about the relationship and to keep her daughter and herself safe. Includes information on the characteristics of abusive relationships and how to end them.

Oh there are SO many Lifetime movies on this subject!
But I would imagine it would be hard to get your hands on those.

I keep remembering the one with Candace Cameron and Kevin Arnold from the Wonder Years (can't remember his name IRL).
Such a good one..I watch it whenever it's on.

You think they'd go for a "Buffy" episode? No, really - in Season 2 there's an episode set in the high school where this jock guy is mean and horrible and abusive to his girlfriend as he is literally turning into a monster. The metaphor isn't very subtle, but it's well-acted and gives you a real feeling for loving someone and not leaving them even if they're hurting you.

Good call ladies! That is exactly what I was looking for! And, it is inexpensive too!!!

We are working on social issues which impact teens in advisory and my ladies chose this topic...makes me wonder!
